Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb

Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Gestalt Therapy trainer since 1979, she is founder and director of the Istituto di Gestalt HCC, a psychotherapy training institute with 3 offices in Italy (Siracusa, Palermo, Milan), all recognized by the Italian Minister for Universities and Research as a Post-Degree School of Psychotherapy for psychologists and medical doctors.

Full Member of the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy (NYIGT), actual President of the Italian Federation of Recognized Gestalt Training Institutes (FISIG), Past-President and first Honorary Member of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT), Founder and Honorary President of the Italian Association for Gestalt Psychotherapy (SIPG), Past President of the Italian Federation of Psychotherapy Methods (FIAP). She has been active in Europe in the recognition of the profession of psychotherapist and of Gestalt Therapy method.

She is an international trainer and supervisor of Gestalt psychotherapy, leading workshops in many Countries; she also cooperates with many research groups on psychotherapy internationally. She is Director of the International Training Programs in Gestalt Psychopathology and Contemporary Disturbances.

She is one of the founders of the European Conferences of Gestalt Therapy Writers. She organized the 6th European Conference of Gestalt Therapy (Palermo, October 1998), the 7th International Conference of Gestalt Therapy (Naples, November 2002), the Second Italian Conference of all methods of Psychotherapy (Siracuse, April 2005) and she isone of the four conveners of the first Conference of joint AAGT and EAGT Conference (Taormina, 2016).

She has contributed to Gestalt therapy literature with several publications and has introduced in Italy the most relevant Gestalt psychotherapists, and literature. Editor of the Italian Journal Quaderni di Gestalt (since 1985), Director of the Italian Gestalt Therapy Book Series (by FrancoAngeli Publisher) and Co-Director of the English Series (Istituto di Gestalt HCC Italy Pub. Co.). She has edited7 books, authored two books and hundreds of papers and chapters on various aspects of Gestalt therapy theory and method. Her most recent book The Now-for-Next in Psychotherapy. Gestalt Therapy Recounted in Post Modern Society (2013) is available in English, Italian, Russian, French, Spanish, Romanian.
